What sugar was actually doing

In candy, sugar has two jobs: make it sweet, and make it chewy. That's it. Everything else about sugar — the spike, the crash, the label — is a side effect nobody ordered.

⌁

What fiber does instead

Prebiotic fiber can do both jobs. It sweetens and it builds the texture. Then, unlike sugar, it carries on down to your large intestine and feeds the good bacteria living there, which boosts your health & immunity.

Why not sugar alcohols

Three reasons. They tend to upset the stomach — bloating, discomfort, the kind of afternoon you'd rather not have. They leave behind a cooling aftertaste that has nothing to do with real candy. And despite the "healthier" reputation, they don't actually do much for you — recent research suggests they may not be as harmless as once assumed.

Why not artificial sweeteners

That thin metallic goodbye at the back of your throat is a flavour decision someone made. We made a different one. Natural sweetness, no chemical aftertaste, nothing lingering after you swallow.

What the scores mean

Nutri-Score grades food from A to E on nutritional quality — sugar, salt, saturated fat, fiber, protein. Candy does not normally appear anywhere near A. Yuka independently rates products on nutrition, additives and organic status; ours comes back Excellent. Neither of these is something we award ourselves.
